ART THERAPY

Testimonial 4 - CSH

I was introduced to Connie in 2022 when things had reached a breaking point for me. Growing up, it was ingrained in me that seeking therapy was wrong, so I really hesitated before making the decision to meet her. But meeting Connie truly turned out to be one of the best decisions I could've ever made.
My daily thoughts and past circumstances really had me fighting with myself internally daily. I was battling with self-blame, depressive thoughts and anxiety. It really impacted my connection with loved ones, friends and even colleagues. I was stuck in this one-sided internal struggle between myself and other people for as long as I could remember.
However, ever since I’ve been meeting up with Connie, she has patiently and repeatedly helped me find the roots of these repeating issues. Her use of art therapy was also really enjoyable and pleasantly different from what I thought therapy would be like. She’s also just really personable and the opposite of whatever I thought a therapist “should” or “would” be like. Every session feels just like a chat and I always look forward to it. I’ve never felt judged on my feelings and thoughts but rather just felt like she wants to understand. Connie was always able to get to the root(s) of the issues I brought up either through art therapy or just simply conversing with her. What always struck me is that she never dictates what actions I should take.  Instead, she helps me understand my own situation and lets me make my own choices voluntarily and helps me take the baby steps I need to get there.
For anyone hesitant about starting therapy, I genuinely can’t recommend any better person than Connie. She has really become such a big source of emotional comfort and support in my life.  It was really uncomfortable to tackle my own issues at the start but I’ve never regretted it! 💙
